1 Bump

What should I do? Puppy advice..

I found VERY cute puppies, Golden Retrievers. I have been wanting one for a long time and so have my boys. The lady only wants $150 for them. Problem is they are only 4 weeks old. Should I get one? Or pass?

  • HELL no, No responsible breeder would even fathom selling a pup at 4 weeks that is repulsive. Did she have health screens on the father and mother or is she just like every other irresponsible backyard breeder who thinks its cute for her dog to have puppies and sell them for money. Real breeders don't do it for money. Go to your local shelter and save a life.

  • I have been to the shelter here and haven't found this type of dog. Many times. I just feel bad and want to take one to take care of it....

  • Don't take a dog before 8 weeks at the earliest. 12 weeks is better.

  • If they are trying to sell puppies before 8 weeks you need to pass- this SCREAMS uneducated or thoughtless breeder to me. Plus you get what you pay for. A $150 pure bred pup is probably not of the best line and you will be look at more issues in the long run. If you are going to buy a pure bred puppy you want to see that the parents have been tested for hereditary issues. Heart, hips and eyes.

  • If you get thisdog now you will have nothing but problems. An animal that is taken from it's mom too early is never taught important things.

  • Ask her to keep the puppy with momma for another 2 months but ask her if you may put a deposit down on the puppy you like.

Most states have laws regarding the minimum age a pup or kitten be adopted. The babies need mom well after the weaning period
