I need help with something. My son is in cub scouts and we are working on his electives for Tigers. We only have two months before the ceremony and would like to get as many electives done as possible. Some of the electives are-
* Visit a government building (ex. State Capitol Building)
* Visit a transportation place (airport, railroad station, bus station, train station, etc)
* Ride public transportation
In my town we don't have public transportation except for a bus and there are certain requirements in order to ride that bus (due to a grant). So, since we have to visit a government building, I was thinking that we could go to the State Capitol building and while we are there visit a transportation place and ride public transportation. I would like to take the train from some where near the Capitol building to the airport. I know the airport use to give tours for kids (I went on one when I was in girl scouts), but I can't find any information about that on their website.
Anyways, any information that you could give me on the safest routes to take for any of the transportation's in Atlanta would be helpful.
Answer QuestionOur train system is called Marta, and it's southern end dumps you inside the airport. They have buses, too.
Thank you, anng.atlanta. I knew that it was Marta but for some reason last night I kept looking for the local routes in Atlanta on the Amtrak website. I feel like an idiot now. Have you ever rode the train there? Is it pretty safe in all the areas or are there some routes that I should avoid?
