Anything to take to lessen blood flow after having a baby?

preferribly natural.. but am looking for something to drink/take such as herbs to help lessen pain after giving birth, and also lessen amount of blood flow without causing health problems such as clots/cramping.. any ideas/solutiouns that worked for you??

  • Well, if you are breastfeeding that is the best way. Also, switching to cloth pads helps. I breastfed of demand and used cloth pads and only bled for 8 days. The bleach and other chemicals and crap is sposie pads are what make you bleed longer. If you keep on cloth, you will find that your monthly periods with DRASTICALLY become shorter with less problems like cramping and other PMS symptoms. As far as herbs, there are tinctures you can order online, but every holistic practice and midwife will tell you to nurse on demand and switch to cloth for best results and just let your body "flush" itself.   • Nursing helps contract your uterus back after birth, so that's definitely the best way. You can take motherwart or shepards purse tinctures to help with bleeding and over all well being :)
