  • Yup, with each contraction your stomache will get really hard. Real contractions are regular and BH contractions are irregular.

  • If they get more pattern, and I don't mean right on like EVERY five min, but somewhat consistant, include back pain or pressure, call your OB. They do usually get consistant. I labored at home for 30 hours before I went in to have my son who took an additional 3 days..((he was early)) but I was suprised they were labor because they were like 7-11 min apart. I am at the end now and have been having them 15 min a apart since last night, and bleeding a little. I am not worried though cause until they are more like every 10, I am not calling.
I would call your ob though if you are worried, sometimes we think they are false, better safe than sorry. Feel better...:)

  • Some people can't always tell if you're having labor contractions just by how it feels. For me, until I was in transition, I had to feel me belly and feel it getting really tight to know I was having a contraction. Otherwise I just felt crampy the whole time. When you're in labor, you can feel your stomach getting hard every 5min or less for at least and hour.

  • I was the same way...If they are just braxton hicks they will go away if you change what you are doing...example if your sitting stand up...if they don't go away then they are real contractions. Also your belly will get really hard all over. Tighten up your stomach and feel it...then let it loose and feel it ...then you will have a better idea on what a contraction feels like.
