what about health care?

Why does our goverment keep on coming up with crackpot ideas for our health care.

Why try and re-invent the wheel Europe and most western industrialised countries have nationalized health care financed by taxes. It work's, why not review each of these country's systems and use the best ideas from each.

HOW TO PAY FOR IT!

1. A $30 deduction taken from our paypacket.

2. A tax on gasoline

3. A National Goverment Lottery

In addition doctors visits should be paid out of pocket at a flat fee of $25 the balance to be met by the National Scheme.

All this trying to make our broken system which is based on profit will never work for the majority of Americans.

A Nationalized health scheme would save company's millions putting profits back on their bottom line which can be used to compete and grow.

Stop all this juggling and establish a Nationalised Health Scheme.

  • ""I know many people going out of this country to have medical and/or dental procedures.""

not the least to mention...your drug prescriptions cost less when ordered via mail from Canada. Or if you live in one of the southern border states...taking your scripts to Mexico.

  • You're kidding right?! All of the countries that have "free healthcare" do NOT have a strong military, do not have a strong infrastructures, do not have space exploration programs, do not have the industry and technology that PRODUCES things that drive an economy--which is why those countries lean HEAVILY on us, in times of trouble!!! AND by now you should realize that you get what you pay for! If something is free or really cheap--the quality will also be sub par!!!

  • If we were to eliminate our military--who would save our sorry butts when we are attacked...Canada? "Hold on America, we'll be there soon...we're just saddling up our horses...!!!"
LOL! If we had free healthcare, the wait lists for ROUTINE appointments would be GINORMOUS--let alone the need for major surgery! Why do you think people come to the USA for their health issues?! And what would be the incentive to go to medical school--so you can practice for nothing?!

And, if you worked for a living, you would know that the costs of medical insurance DOES come out of our paychecks...and not just $30/check...try like $500+ (for a full coverage family plan)!!! And there is ALREADY a tax on gasoline...something like 30+ cents on the price you pay at the pump per gallon!!!!

  • And, as for your third idea, we already HAVE multi-state lotteries--ever hear of Powerball?! THAT money is SUPPOSED to go to our schools, senior citizens and infrastructure--just look at how good that concept is working out!!!

  • Question is about health care not about military.
I know many, many people who are going to Europe to have surgeries done or people who can't afford fertility treatments.
Many countries in Europe are doing very good. I think OP has some very good ideas , we should learn from other countries.

  • As expensive as our coverage is I would love to only have to pay $35 a paycheck. Oh and I know many people going out of this country to have medical and/or dental procedures.
