Slight name change or should I call her by her middle name?

We named our first daughter Jazlyn. My husband and I both loved the name at the time. Now, I'm having a some remorse fearing it may not stand the test of time. (My husband still loves the name and thinks I'm crazy). She is 3 years old and I now cringe (inside) when I call or hear her by her full name. I feel silly saying it since we are surrounded by Emmas and Sophias. I seriously lose sleep over this. Is it too late to do a name change to something similar like Jocelyn or Jacqueline? Or is it better to call her by her middle name? Or am I really being silly? Please share your thoughts. Thank you.

  • If she was still an infant, I'd say change it. But, at 3, she's used to her name.

  • Positive feedback please, FreeForAll. This is a real concern that I'm upset about.

Thank you janderson595. My daughter's middle name is after my grandmother, Iva. I would call her Ivy. Iva is what I wanted to name her, but my sister beat me to it. She has a daughter named Iva.

  • It just occurred to me that it might be a little too out there. I loved it at the time. I saw Jazlyn in a name book and my husband was hooked. I was leaning toward another name, but then went with it because he was really lobbying for it. We are both creative artsy types. Now, I feel insecure about it. I'm just around kids that have more traditional names and feel, it might be a little too saucy. Then again, it may be a good name for the same reason.

  • FFA they already have an Ivy, just step out! I totally understand, I wanted to change my sons name a few months after but now love the name I chose. I LOVE the name you chose, but if you have second thoughts say now, not later in life. :)Good luck!
