What is wrong with my sister? She is having pregnancy symptoms, but has a period and a nagative result.

ok so my sister told me that she has been so hungry lately like after 5 minutes of eating she is hungry again. She also said her lower back has been hurting and she said her boobs have been really sore and her belly has been hurting. She also has been sensitive to foods she smells certain things it makes her nauseas and want to get sick. She was spotting the other day she said it was red and not in her undies just on the toilet paper, but I asked her today if she ever started her period and she said she did. She did however take a test as well because of the symptoms, but it was nagative. Why would she have these symptoms if she got a nagative pregnancy test? Her periods aren't regular (she does have a 3,5 year old) she said that she will go sometimes a month without a period.

  • It could be PMS. She could be having a miscarriage. She should see a doc.

  • she said she didn't have a period last month, but started this month. She has been having these symptoms for about 2 months. She said she also has normally been 5 days and lately has only been 3 days, but it has been a little heavier than before

  • It could have just been PMS, it could have even been just because she badly wants to be pregnant, or she could have had a miscarriage. I had several miscarriages in the first 9 weeks of pregnancy. I did have positive pregnancy tests, but the doctor told me that it's very common to have miscarriages in the early weeks, and many women never even know they were pregnant. Most people don't have symptoms that early.

It wouldn't hurt to be checked by her doctor, although he may not be able to tell her for sure at this point.

Hugs to your sister. I hope that it happens soon.

  • SOmetimes when someone wants to be pregnant or had a thought they might be pregnant they can get pregnancy symp. Also her hormones could be out of sorts for a number of reasons and that could cause it too. She should see a dr. My hormones did that to me, I even started getting a belly and then my periods stopped, but I wasn't pregnant it was just my hormones. There's a word for it that my dr said it was but I don't remember now because it was years ago. But she should deff be checked because if there is an underlaying issue she will want to get it fixed so she can start to feel better.

  • She just really needs to just be aware. I had 12 pregnancy tests: 4 fecal, 5 urine, and 3 urine tests - they all came back negative. I had my period the entire time as well. I ended up having my daughter 3 months early (obviously didn't know I was pregnant). I ended up having preeclampsia

  • Hello, everybody! I found this great pregnancy calculator; it has four calculators in one! Ovulation, Due date, Weight gain and Conception! I think it is very easy to use and it gives quite accurate results: http://saymommy.com/pregnancy-calculator/
