What should I do? My son has a fever of 102.8

When he woke from his nap he was really hot, his face was read also, i didnt check his tepm. because I knew his fever was. I tried to take him a lukewarm bath but he just cried it was to cold, so I put a little more warm water. It cooled him down a little bit but now he has a fever of 102.8. I don't know what to do. he also looks drained and all he wants to do is sleep.

  • I agree give him some tylenol or motrin to make him comfy and let him sleep. Sounds like he picked up a virus and just needs some rest. Try to get him to drink as much fluids as possible to prevent him from getting dehydrated. If his fever spikes or the medicine doesn't help than call the nurse line or bring him to the er.

  • Give him toddler Advil and pedialyte to keep hydrated. You can freeze some apple juice for just so it forms a thin layer of ice then take it out and put it in a sippy cup for him to drink. It will be nice and cold and cool him down from the inside out.

  • Alternate motrin and Tylenol so he's at least comfortable...cool rags to wipe his head hands and feet and Popsicles, fluids, anything to keep him hydrated...
