  • I used infant Tylenol according to his pedi's instructions. Better you give the pediatrician a quick call first. Hope your child gets better soon. Good luck!

  • Advil. But for an ongoing fever I've been told to alternate the two for best results. Advil then 6-8 hours later Tylenol then 4-6 hours later back to Advil, repeat.

  • I always do Childrens Tylenol during the day & Childrens Motrin at night since it lasts 6-8 hours it helps my son sleep better.

  • it also depends on the fever if it is low do tylonol if it is high advil will work better

  • talk to your doctor as to which one to give I give my children Advil but always consult with their doctor first

  • Neither is truly safe and neither should be given for fever unless it gets so high that the child is very uncomfortable ... the body does better to fight the fever without the medicine in their systems.

    Having said that, Advil is the better choice. We avoid Tylenol (acetametaphine) like the plague; very damaging to the liver and kidneys. Doctors will usually advise to alternate between the two.
