Just a question :)

Hello everyone, I was wondering, My husband and I want a baby, we both have jobs, and we just decided that we want one, well over the past year, we haven't been really really trying, but he releases inside me and I haven't gotten pregnant yet, a lot of times I thought I was but wasn't. My periods are irregular, but they wasn't until about June, and then I skipped that was when I really thought I was pregnant but I'm not. & so from June to now, I'm really irregular, but I was put on birth control I believe it was in 2008- or 2009 because I didn't have a period for a whole year. Which I was a teenager then, but I'm wondering, what can I do to naturally ovulate and what can he do to produce more sperm, because I'm at the point in my life, where I'm ready to be a mom, and I would love that more then anything, but I'm scared I can't be. Any advice, or have you gone threw this? I mean sometimes I get so mad and I see my nephews and I'm totally having baby fever, I'm 20 years old and he is 25, what can we do? Thanks, and any advice is appreciated. :)

  • I wish I can hug you right now because being a mom is something that I can only dream of for now but i'm hopeful. I'm 20 years old like yourself &it's just aggravating especially being in your child bearing age.. I expected to conceive right away but that wasn't the case with me. I had irregular cycles though out my whole teenage years and I got a period at age 15... I just turned 20 in july.. by august I went on birth control pills and got off of it by early October! Ever since then I had been having regular periods. Don't know how long that will last but 4-6 months with regular cycles is definitely progress for me. Give it a try honey. Go back on birth control pills to regulate your cycles and continue ttc when you feel your body is ready.

  • One stop stressing over it, I know easer said then done lol. My periods were irreguler the dr said he'll give me birth control to regulate them for a couple months then we'll go from there. Well I stopped stressing cuz I figured there's nothing I can do right now anyway, well I had to wait for my next period to start the birth control, but I never had to start because in that month I got pregnant. So I would deff go to the dr and discuss it with him/her. And in the mean time enjoy trying to make a baby, don't make it a job, that was the best advice I ever got. Good luck!!

  • Being as healthy as you can be always helps. Try starting some regular exercise if you don't already, and try and eat healthy things and drink lots of water. Sometimes when people are too skinny, they don't ovulate very often, so if you need to gain some weight, eat more healthy fats like nuts, nut butters, cook with olive oil, etc. Also, if someone's overweight it can make it harder to get pregnant, so if that's the case losing some weight might be just the trigger to make it more likely they'll get pregnant. And of course, you'll want to be taking pre-natal vitamins anytime you have a possibility of getting pregnant, so start taking those daily. Finally, having sex every other day or so makes it likely that you'll catch the egg if/when it does release, since you have irregular periods, but it shouldn't be too often that it'll decrease his sperm count too much. But of course, don't stress out! Check with a doctor after a year

  • i say go to the doc and jus be patient about it.. When the time is right, im quite sure yu will be blessed wit a baby.. I will be 27 in april, i always wanted kids. I tried a couple times and it never happened. So once i hit 25 and was not tryin thats when it happened for me. i was blessed with my son, which will be 2 in july.. Im a late bloomer, but patience is a virtue sweetie... Everything will work in yo favor, probably jus not as soon as yu would like it. But jus remember that The Man Upstairs has a plan for every last one of us... Jus be patient and go to a doc to regulate your cycles again...
