4 Bumps

What doctor should I take her too?

My dd8 has had a little lump underneath her right nipple for about 2 weeks now it doesn't hurt but when she leans on it it's tender she says.
Should I take her to our family doctor or the pediatrician? She has not seen her pediatrician since she was 5.
Any time any of us get sick we just go to our family doctor.

Thanks Ladies!!!

  • I would take her to the doctor that she has been seeing most recently because they know her medical history for the last 3 yers better.

  • I would take her to what ever doctor she feels more comfortable with. They may refer you to a specialist or may be able to let you know themselves.

  • I would take her to the doctor that she uses. If it hasn't been a pediatrician for the past 3 years than I'm sure they have closed her file. I'd just see her regular doctor.

  • Check her other nipple too. I bet that it's the breast buds and they feel like hard little peas under the nipples when they first appear. I noticed them on my daughter when she just turned 8 when I was putting sunblock on her and I got a little panicky about it. Then a few of my friends told me breast buds and I googled it and sure enough........

  • Children should see their ped until they turn 18 due to the fact that they specialize in children. When they turn 18 then it's good to take them to your family doctor.
