WEIGHTLOSS QUESTION!

I need to lose about 14lbs after having my son (over a year ago . . . )

I'm doing regular exercise on the Wii and walking, I've cut out all junk food, and eating 3 meals a day (currently cereal for breakfast, a meal replacement bar or shake for lunch & a healthy balanced meal in the evening). I snack on fruit or yogurt and try to drink about 3-4 pints of water.

My question is, should I be taking water tablets or fibre pills to help speed things along? I've been doing this plan for about a month now, and I'm not seeing any results :(

Any advice will be helpful please :)

  • The less you have to loose the slower it comes off. You might not be eating enough, that's right... you might not be eating enough!! What's your calorie intake/day??

  • You may not be getting enough nutrients. Write down everything you eat (even if it's only a bite or two) to see what you are taking in during the day. Make adjustments from there. You should be eating real food, not meal replacement stuff or highly processed things...those things aren't healthy and don't really work long term. Also you may need to increase your activity level.

  • It takes time for your boby to go from storage mode to burning things off . Six plus meals a day is also necessary like Crafty26 said not eating enough. You also might be building mussle so you need to check how your outfits are fitting Don't give up

  • When you exercise, are you sweating? You really need to work it up to a sweat i order to burn those calories. Drink LOTS of water. A fiber pill (or drink) may help, but is not necessary. If you don't mind me asking, what type of meal replacement are you using?

  • Thanks ladies, I try to eat 3 meals and snack on fruit, I'm using slim fast meal replacements, or shakes, it's for weight loss and convenience, not much time for lunch with a busy 1 year old running around the place! Thanks everyone.

  • Slim Fast is convenient, but not the best nutriotionally. I can offer an alternative if you are interested.

  • It sounds like you aren't eating enough - which slows your metabolism and hinders weight loss. Crafty is right, you actually have to eat enough to lose weight. Also, water pills and fiber don't cause fat-loss. They weight you lose from increasing fiber is waste in your system (which is a good thing) - but use fruits and veggies to increase fiber - NOT fiber drinks. And water pills help you expel retained water, but you can do that by drink MORE water (yes more water). You should be drinking a minimum of 1/2 your body weight in oz of water (if you are 150lbs, drink at least 75+ oz of water EACH day). 3-4 pints = 24-32 oz of water = NOT ENOUGH!
And make lunch easy! Don't grab a meal replacement shake... have an apple with natural, unsweetened peanut butter or almond butter and a piece of cheese or turkey. It's doesn't have to be elaborate, but EAT! your calories - don't drink that processed stuff.
