i did, i had a hemi-laminectomy and modified fusion. recovery was the worst pain i have ever felt in my life! but i think that was due to the screws being placed in my spine. i think the lami's are less painful. take the pain meds when you have pain, they will help. it is important that, when recovering, you don't let the pain get too bad. the pain meds will be less effective if you wait too long. i had to go to several months of physical therapy. my back wasn't getting better, then someone rear-ended me 6 months after surgery. i have to have surgery again. if you have any other questions or want to discuss it further, send me a message. good luck!
