Conceiving after Molar Pregnancy

Quote Like Reply to Post .
When I first saw my OB Oncologist regarding my Complete Molar pregnancy, he adviced me not to try to get pregnant again until at least Sept 2012. I have been done with my chemo injections for a couple months now, and my numbers went down nicely each week while getting the injections. My numbers have been normal/negative since the beginning of November. We are VERY eager to start trying again and want to start asap. I read some blogs online for Complete molar pregnancies, and there were numerous women who concieved before their Doctor gave them the ok. Their pregnancies and babies all turned out healthy. Can any of you fellow CafeMom members give me any info, or did you have any experiences with getting pregnant b4 you were given the ok? I am ready to put this behind me and move forward from this awful experience! Thanks for any help you can give!

  • I had a complete molar but never chemo injections. My dr. gave me the ok after 9 months. I got pregnant shortly after and had a miscarriage. Then got pregnant again a couple months later and everything was fine.

  • What is a molar pregnancy?
A molar pregnancy happens when tissue that normally becomes a fetus instead becomes an abnormal growth in your uterus. Even though it isn't an embryo, this growth triggers symptoms of pregnancy.

A molar pregnancy should be treated right away. This will make sure that all of the tissue is removed. This tissue can cause serious problems in some women.
