I had a rough day, and I feel like eating junk. Trying to be strong!

  • Do you have a small something? I keep some small pieces of dark chocolate (I think the ones I have now are Dove) in a high cabinet that is really hard to get to, but if I really feel like having something decadent, I go get ONE and then savor it on the couch. Or get some sugar free chocolate pudding, or 100 calorie popcorn, or something that closely resembles what you crave when you have a rough day but is lower in calories/fat/sodium so you can satisfy that craving when it comes.
    Sometimes if I tell myself I can have my piece of chocolate after a tall glass of ice water, after I've had the water, I find I don't really need the chocolate.

  • Fruit helps me if I am craving sugar. What about indulging yourself in some other way? ("I am going to go get a massage. I deserve it, b/c I didn't eat sixteen chocolate bars today and I REALLY WANTED TO") Good luck!
