Nightmares? Is this normal?

My oldest DS just turned 4, has some really bad nightmares. I mean he wakes up screaming sometimes. And I dont know what to do besides just hold him and comfort him till he goes back to sleep. Does any one know where these nightmares come from? Or any advice on how to help him?

  • Nightmares are common. You have to find something for him that will be his "nighttime protector". Some kind of stuffed animal. Tell him the Protector is there to take away his nightmares. See if that works.
