  • I would not quit yet. Just keep trying from time to time. Your baby is getting used to eating so something new does take time to adjust it. I would try to make it a little bit thinner and not to thick. I know my girls did the box cereal but they also have in jars and might try that as well. Just hang in there.

  • If she's not interested, there's no need to worry. Doctors here recommend cereal at 6 months... and really, if she's getting her fill of milk beyond that, I still wouldn't worry. Your baby is doing fine.

  • Wait until she's 6 months & I do not recommend rice cereal, it makes them constipated. Instead give her Gerber or Beach Nut Oatmeal cereal.

  • well she eats 4-5 oz every 2-3 hours sometimes 4 hours so he figured a cereal bottle in the am or pm would help her stay full longer

  • If she is thrusting her tongue out at the spoon she might not be ready. Plus the baby cereals are horrible. My kids never liked them. If you really want her to have cereal get some cream of rice or make some fresh oatmeal. Mostly my kids started with summer squash and went from there.

It make take 10 tries or more of each food when introducing a new taste or texture for baby to accept it as something to eat. Spitting it out doesn't mean she doesn't like it, but that she has no idea of what just went into her mouth or that it should taste good. You might want to wait until she is still hungry after a "milk" meal (formula/breast) and/or grabbing at your food.

  • Babies don't know whether they like food or not. You have to smile and pretend to like it yourself. Speak words of encouragement while feeding her.

  • She doesn't need cereal. She's not even 4 months old yet. The amount she is eating is totally normal and she's hungry for a reason..she's growing. Rice cereal is just empty calories. Wouldn't you prefer her to fill up on something that is actually benefiting her?
