Upholstery grade vinyl

Dh just brought me home a bunch of upholstery grade vinyl with matching nylon thread from his work (they are allowed to take anything that is not big enough to fill an order with.
I have no idea how to sew this stuff or even what to make it into, but I really want to use it because some of it is really really pretty.
Any advice would be helpful

  • How about a rain coat? Or a beach tote (if the color/print is suitable)?

Look for patterns designed specifically for vinyl projects. The instructional guide sheet will give you specifics on do's and don'ts for working with vinyl. It's been a while for me. I remember you don't use pins, since they leave little holes - I used painter's tape to hold the pieces together. You can't really press as you would fabric either. I don't remember much beyond that.

GL with whatever you decide to do. :-)
