  • I know people have have their child sleep in their swing every night for a few weeks. It was the only place the baby would actually sleep, so they let him sleep there. He is now 4 and doing just fine.

  • One night is not a problem. Creating the habit of always being there could be a problem. I know moms who had the baby in the swing for a long time but then it was awful transitioning him/her to a crib.

  • My baby was almost 3 months old & got her first cold with congestion & stuffed up nose. She could not breath if she was laying down flat so our Pediatrician recommended for her to sleep in her swing. That was the only way her sinuses could drain & she could rest. I put the swing next to my side of the bed & locked her in. I reclined the swing as far as it would go back (Fisher Price Ocean swing). She slept fine & was safe & sound. I did it for two nights. I see no problem with it occasionally. It's just like putting them in a car carrier but less scrunched up.

  • My son slept in his swing for the first 6 weeks of his life (naps and bed time). He's almost 7 months now and has no issues with posture and he transtioned within 3 days of trying to his crib just fine. His ped said it was fine that he was sleeping in his swing. My daughter almost always took naps in her swing til she was about 6 months old and she's 4 now and she is totally fine.
