Vote down question

i understand that a vote down is to show that you disagree with a response to a question.

But some vote downs seem so very random. Do you also loose points for vote downs?

In general I think the points have ruined this section since there are so many ridiculous posts simply for points... so Im wondering if these random vote downs are some sort of point game that people are playing with others... trying make them loose points.

Otherwise, Im curious why there seem to be so many random vote downs. Kind of wish people would say "hey I voted that response down because of XYZ" and get a dialog going. But then again... some of these gals may not even be able to do that in a nice way.

There are haters out there. A response may be almost identical to another post and one will receive a DV and the other won't. Why? Just because of the person who post it.

I only vote down anwers that are mean or just seriously bad advice. I think there are many on here that hit the downvote button every time someone has an opinion that is different from thiers and I don't think that is what the DV was meant for

Some immature people like to vote down members they don't like, regardless of their answers.
No, you don't get points for DVing, nor do you lose them unless you posted anon and get DV'd.

i got a DV in a question b/c i answered a CMer's question about a football move. i defined it right so i have no clue what the DV was for...i'm thinking i might have a stalker in the making...YAY!
