2 Bumps

Really worried!! Is this normal? Thinking about calling the ped tomorrow morning.

Last night my husband went to a friends house for dinner. We left our 2 year old daughter with her normal babysitter (14 years old), the babysitters sister (8 years), and another little girl (4 years). When we got home at around 1 am I changed my daughter's pull up and I noticed a small amount of red blood in it. I freaked out and started looking for where the blood had come from. From what I could tell it came from her vagina. It did not look like the blood was in her pee. I wiped her and there was a small amount on the wipe too, but I used a second wipe and there was nothing on that one. I asked her if it hurt because she was fighting me a bit when I was trying to look at it and she said " Yes". I asked her if anyone hurt her and she said "no" I asked if she put anything down there and she said "no". I have not seen anymore blood since then and it has been about 14 hours. This morning she told me it did not hurt down there and she has not told me it hurts when she pees or anything. She has no fever that would suggest infection. I did not see any cuts, and she does not have a diaper rash. Nothing looks swollen or irritated either. She did tell me she fell down the stairs last night, but this morning when I asked her again she said she did not fall down the stairs (Plus she has fallen down the stairs before and she talks about it even though it was months ago..) and the babysitter did not say anything about her falling down the stairs, and she is usually good about stuff like that.

Should I take her to the doctor tomorrow? I think I'm going to anyway but, I want to know if anyone else has heard of this.

  • I would take to doctor or call first and see what they think. I know with infections there is blood in it. Could she have had a hard bowel movement when there since that could cause the blood as well. If you have never had a problem with the sitter then might not be her. If you have had problems with her then I would look around for another one.

  • did you call the sitter? I would think that if she had been injured it would be more than a small bit of blood? I would call the sitter and ask if she was with your daughter the entire time? I was about 2 and fell on the bar of my trike, and had blood, in my diaper, my mom freaked, but I had just hit really hard,, idk moma, but I think a docotor's visit wouldn't hurt, but she will need to be seen tomorrow, will you let us know what happens?

  • I completely trust my babysitter! I have left my dd with her so many times and never had any issues. We were at dinner at her parents house in the same neighborhood we live in. I'm more worried dd did something to herself or has an infection.

  • I decided to call the doctor before taking her in. They said to just keep an eye on it. If there is no blood now they will not be able to tell where it was coming from, and if she has no other symptoms of being hurt/sick there isn't much they can do. They told me their best bet is that she had a hard bowel movement and the blood may have just dripped tward her vagina making it look like that is where it came from. I feel much better now (But that is also due to the fact that it has been two days and I have not seen anymore blood.)

Thank you ladies for you help and concern!
