3 Bumps

I hope we never go through that again!

I don't know what happened... But from the week before Christmas until last Friday my 2 yr old dd was AWFUL. It was temper tantrum after temper tantrum. All she did was scream all day every day. Nothing I did would calm her down and I never knew what was going to set her off. I had a day where I just totally broke down and cried because I felt like an awful mother. I didn't even want to be around her anymore. And she wasn't just this way for me, she was even throwing fits at daycare, and she's NEVER been bad at daycare.
I don't know why, and I'm not going to question it. But last weekend all of a sudden it was like something clicked and I had my happy, sweet, loving baby back again. We have not had a temper tantrum in over a week! Maybe she knew she broke me and decided to give me a break lol. Has your child gone through stages like this? How did you handle it?

  • My daughter is 4 and she goes through spurts. Usually when she is in the throwing tantrums about anything and everything and its been days on end non stop, I usually end up breaking down and just cry from the frustration and feeling horrible that I cant make it better for her, whatever it may be. She spends a lot of time in her room during these spurts. We have a rule that if she is going to cry and scream she goes to her room til she calms down and can tell us what is wrong. But it doesnt always work and those are the times that I break down. Maybe your daughter was teething, getting her 2 year molars and thats why she was acting like that. Its possible. Unless of course she already got those, then I dont know.
