  • You have to teach her to sleep alone.Wrap her in a small blanket.

  • Having her sleep on you is a habit you want to break. You don't want to be doing this forever. Swaddle her in a blanket like they did with the babies in the hospital nursery. The more confining the more it feels like the womb. When my daughter was born the big sleeping position was on the side. Take 2 towels and roll them and place the baby on her side with the towel supporting her back and front.

  • Google how to swaddle and you will see helpful links. Have a consistent sleeptime routineand use it all the time. For example - sing the same song, swaddle, same comforting routine, same lighting, etc all the time. She will learn the cues and settle down for sleep. Co-sleeping in wonderful if it is your thing. If not, start your sleeptime routine now and always use it. GL

  • With all 5 of mine, I had a "hearbeat" bear that mimics the sounds they heard in utero. I think a white noise machine would work as well, but I liked that the bear was sound and motion activated so if they moved in their sleep it started back up and lulled them back to sleep. Also, I used to wear a small blanket (that actually came with the bear) under my shirt while they were awake and then could tuck it into bed with them, so they had my scent, comforting sounds, and I swaddled them to make them feel secure.
I agree that a bedtime routine started this early can contribute to great sleep.
