The Third Jesus by Deepak Chopra - Christians, and non-Christians....

Have you read, or would you read? I've started, and I love it. Chopra is bringing the Jesus who I believe to have lived alive to me.

The Third Jesus: The Christ We Cannot Ignore

By Deepak Chopra

Who is Jesus Christ?

First, there is the historical Jesus, the man who lived more than two thousand years ago and whose teachings are the foundation of Christian theology and thought. Next there is Jesus the Son of God, who has come to embody an institutional religion with specific dogma, a priesthood, and devout believers. And finally, there is the third Jesus, the cosmic Christ, the spiritual guide whose teaching embraces all humanity, not just the church built in his name. He speaks to the individual who wants to find God as a personal experience, to attain what some might call grace, or God-consciousness, or enlightenment.

  • One can be non-Christian, and love what Christ stood for. If you follow the link, you can hear the author talk about this book

  • I'm a fan of all things Chopra, so I'd definitely read it.

Regardless if one believes in any of the religious leaders of the past or present, they are still very relevant to learn about. We have more empathy and understanding when we understand what other's views entail. In addition, regardless if the people are fact or fiction, we can learn from them how to be and give love and acceptance. They are all worth studying and knowing.

  • Trinjo: me too! I keep his CD's in my car, and just listening to his voice soothes me. I think his teachings make sense, and I can understand them.
