my baby is 4 1/2 months and weighs 16 lbs.... his doctor said he is over weight but his father is 220 lbs and 6 foot 2.... do u think he is overweight????? he wears 6-9 month clothes and i just dont know.....

Your doctor is an IDIOT!! At 4 months old my son was in 9-12 month clothing. I don't remember his weight, but he's almost always been a pound an inch. He's now 8.5, 4 foot 5 3/4 (measured yesterday), and 72 pounds. There is VERY little fat on him. He's just a really solid kid.
Found this height/weight percentile calculator and thought I'd share
Up until recently he's been in the 90+% for his height/weight. Now he's in the 85-90%. As long as your baby is proportional I wouldn't worry about it.

The doctor was probably basing what he said on the ratio of length to weight and there IS a discrepancy. Check it out here:

His length is below 5th percentile and his weight is between 25 and 50th percentile. Also, no offence intended, but he may also have noted that your husband is overweight and wants to alert you to a family trend. I'm sure he had your best intentions at heart.
