  • I absolutely 100% would. Better while they're healthy than when they're not.

  • Not if I wasn't diagnosed with cancer.. If I had cancer & they said that by removing my breasts would completely remove the cancer--I would do it.

  • No, a ton of people have the gene and never get cancer. I would just make sure that I checked myself more often so that if I did end up having cancer I would check it early. I would get them removed if I was diagnosed though.

  • timely, not personally, but i know of a family where this is an issue currently. all three sisters attend my church. #1 has breast cancer, has gone through surgeries/chemo/etc,..she's lost all hair, still not out of the woods. #2 tested and is clear, but had them removed. #3 tested and is clear, but hasn't decided yet...
idk what i would do. knowing me, preventatively speaking, i'd probably remove and rebuild, so to speak. i've always been of the mindset that if something is harmful to me or not working for me but against me, i simply remove all possibility for further damage. walk away and start again.

  • Probably not. i believe I'd make sure to self test weekly, and doctor test every few months or so. But I don't think i'd have them removed without actually haveing cancer. There are so many other cancers that you can even "pre-test" for that you have to deal with when/if it come. Breast cancer would probably be the same for me.

That being said, I won't sit here and say for sure either way. I don't know what I would do, to be completely honest with you, unless I was actually in that situation.

  • If you would have asked me that say 5yrs ago I would say no. Now, after losing my mum to BC last year and seeing just how the disease runs on my mums side of the family now the answer is yes.

I love my kids to much for the possibility of leaving them behind cuz I want to keep my boobs. I'd get implants, or hell maybe I wouldn't do anything at all. Take me as I am.

  • No. But I would do self exams ovten and test often. Just because you have the gene does not mean you will get breast cancer.
