  • You might want to try paraguard, it is an IUD that has no hormones at all. I myself I am trying Nuva ring, I tried Mirena and still got pregnant. If you really really don't want to get pregnant tell your DH to suck it up and put a condom on. I got pregnant using Mirena and condoms, my DH has no choice but to wear condoms because I do NOT want another child for at least 3 years.

  • Your options (that I know of) for non-horomonal BC are, ParaGard IUD, condoms (male or female), sponge, Lea's Shield, FemCap or diaphragm. You can also try natural family planning where you track your cycles and plan sex around your non-fertile times of the month.

  • What about a diaphragm? They work without hormones and have no side effects. They never caused a stroke, infertility or PID; you won't gain weight, get depressed, or lose your libido; your periods won't be affected. They have never been the subject of class action lawsuits and are instantly reversible.
