I notice I tend to gravitate toward bass-heavy melodramatic alt-rock, a la Smashing Pumpkins circa 1993 when I'm upset.

i listen to praise/worship music, if i'm truly wanting to be uplifted.
if i'm wanting to wallow and go ahead and cry, i'll listen to country...its good for something. lol.
