Can diabetics donate blood???

  • They will have their blood sugar level tested before the donation, if it's ok, they will be allowed to donate.

  • It may depend on your overall health. When you go to donate there will be a questionnaire you'll need to fill out. They'll let you know.

  • my father in law is diabetic - not sure what type, but he donates all the time. as long as he eats well and is well hydrated before hand, and has the offered snack as soon as he is done, he is fine.
