  • Not this again. This is always re hashed by formula feeding moms, seems the guilt or whatever makes it seem everyone is against them, just chill and stop worrying about what everyone else thinks!

  • I myself dont worry about what people think. theres no guilt on my side. and from my experiences, BF seem to think moms that dont BF are bad parents.

  • I forumla fed my first and breast fed my second and If anything formula was pushed on me. The Peds office scared me into not breast feeding my son after 1 month(Not that I was palling on doing it for longanyway- another story for another time). They tried to do the same with my DD. I changed peds. The new ped was indifferent. she just made sure she was growing and meeting milestones. The only place I have ever seen breast feeding 'pushed' was at the wic office with some posters but at the same time they happily hand out formula vouchers. I think they are just trying to educate though- make sure people know there options- not a bad thing really.
and just for the record: I am pro- fed baby. :0)

  • Sorry Im probably the last person you want to hear from considering my children were and are strictly nursed ( still nursing our 21 month old) but if some feel its being pushed too much it must not be enough bc more and more moms seem to be turning to formula for what ever reason however we still do have a pretty strong number of nursing moms but it could be much better. IMO I never needed it to be pushed on me cause it was a given that thats what I wanted to do. It is healthier no matter how much one wants to argue it but some moms cant nurse bc of a medical issue or they just feel its easer to use formula but whatever the reason Im glad to hear that many are telling you about the benefits of nursing and how you should give it a try. We need more of those people :) cause I think some women are just scared to try it or there just not sure.

  • I see the EXTREME opposite of what you are describing. As a breastfeeding mom, I was offered a ton of formula samples in the hospital, see formula commercials, and see backlash from mothers nursing in public...I've never seen that with a bottle. IMO, it is sad that formula is more normal than nursing.

  • i dont see it as sad, i see it as a matter of choice and neither should be pushed on people.
