  • My neighbor has two. They are good dogs but they need a lot of attention and discipline. Get the puppy into obiendence training ASAP. Do all the follow-up work at home.

  • I have an 8 month old BC that is SUPER smart. They are very intellegent dogs and needs a job!! A really fun thing to do is agility. The dog gets super stimulated and you can have fun too!! Lots of walks and lots of consistancy. they are nerotic creatures and like things a certain way and tend not to take change well. they will find their "addictions" like mine always has a ball or toy in his mouth. My hubby had a BC while we were dating and he was the same way for the 6 years of his short life.

  • Congrats! You will have lots of fun with this little one. They are so cute and so energetic. Try "wearing the dog" the first few days...anytime he is out of his crate have him leashed to you so he gets the idea that he is to be with and beside you and that all good things come from you. It also teaches his name and he starts to get the ideas of what housebreaking and "Come" and so forth are. Not with any reliability of course, but they are smart and the idea is just beginning to sink in already. Always use the same words for the same command. If you want him to go pee when you say "go pee" then always say it each time he does it, and then tell him what a super, wonderful, good puppy he is and give him a treat!

  • they are working dogs and very smart. so they need a lot of activity and maybe given some chores to do. train it to fetch your slippers. lots of play and lots of walks. they will get bored really easy and can chew and destroy your home. they need something to stimulate them. i like the idea of flyball or agility.

  • Flyball! They rule in flyball. And disc dog, and agiltiy, and buy some sheep. Maybe some cattle if you have the room. Hopefully your BC has an off switch, thats always nice, but not always guaranteed in this breed. Oh, don't forget to be fun. BCs can get depressed, theyre a very sensitive breed.
