Runny nose but no fever

Daughter has been kind of croupy for a few weeks now. She still has a runny nose, but no fever, and heer cough is almost gone. She has an appointment for shots.
So do you think they will still want to give her her shots?

  • If it's a low grade fever around .99 she will most likely still get shots. But it is your choice to make. If she is still under 2 years old, I would wait a week or two then see how she is before they give her any shots.

  • They shouldn't administer any shots when a child is sick because their immune system is down.

  • I agree with momnbabygirl009...my 5 month old still hasn't gotten her 4 month shots because she has been fighting a nasty cold for so long. It's viral so there is nothing they can do for her, but wait until she gets better. Of course you can discuss this with her pedi and they will do what they think is best. I hope your little one gets to feeling better soon!

  • They will likely offer, unless her fever is over 100. However, you are well within your rights to delay them for a bit until her immune system is up and running

  • With no fever, shots should be no big deal. Bring up your concern with the pediatrician and they will give dd a thourough once-over and make sure there aren't any contraindications to giving the immunizations.
