Just got my steam mop and...

It leaves white streaks. It's supposed to work on my foors but all it does is leave white streaks. I followed the instructions and everything was put together the right way. Am I doing something wrong? What can I do to not have the streaks? It's a bissell lift off steam mop.

  • I don't know. I have a bissel and it doesn't leave streaks. Is it filled with water? Is something on the pad?

  • On the box there should be a manufaturer's hot line. I would call the number.

I don;t know what could be causing this but they should be abl to help

  • When I got mine the instructions advised to wash the pads first and to use distilled water. Mine has never left streaks either. I use it on tiles, hardwood and linoleum.

  • Not sure. It's just water so there's nothing in it to streak like that. Did you try washing the pads first? Maybe there is something on there. If that doesn't work it's probably a manufacture defect and I'd call the company.
