Thinking about going to the dermatologist

I have always have a little facial acne, and someon the chest and back. Not like real bad or anything but enought o bother me and ii have enver found anythink that cleared it up.
So i was thinking about making an appointment with a dermatologist.
Is there something that would help with it on face and body?
Anyone ever had to go to the dermatologist and what did you go for?

    I have heard proactiv is a good product but I have no personal experience with it.

  • I tried the Pro-active and it did not work for me. It made things worse for me.

  • It depends on which type of acne you have. Proactive can make some types of acne worse.
    You can use any product that contains Salicylic acid with moisturizer that contains either glycolic acid or an acne treatment like Oxy 10.
    the salicylic acid will cause the skin to sluff off quicker and leave the pores unclogged, along with the glycolic acid which would do the same. Oxy 10 can cause redness and irritation, but the combination of these 3 products can be very beneficial. Good luck
    Pharmacies sell generic acne products otc that rival Proactive and are much cheaper and sometimes work better. AVON also has a very good line of acne products that work.

  • I have gone to the dermatologist a few times for a yearly beauty mark check(cancer runs in my family) and also for removal of things and,rashes but never for blemish issues.
