How would you feel about this?

He sends me a text message that said "Happy VDay :)

But then he post a video of the song "You Don't have to Love me" with a caption that reads "Happy Anti Valentines Day" smh. We are both single, just dealing with each other.

If I am not in a relationship but I have male friends am I wrong to expect a little something for valentines day? I mean some flowers or something. Most of my friends just wrote me Happy Vday on Facebook or texted me. A lot of men don't like valentines day because they feel it is overrated and couples should do romantic things all throughout the year. I agree in a sense. But since it is a day to acknowledge loved ones I think it is nice to send flowers or a card.

  • I think that if you feel this way it needs to be communicated to him before valentines day.

  • Why would you have any expectations of male friends on Vday? That is a perk for single men on holidays - they don't have to do anything!

  • Sorry, but if you want flowers, or candy, wait til tomorrow & get everything half off. :p Friends are friends, unless they are friends w/ benefits- then maybe a small token would be warranted in that case. My husb & I have been married for 14 yrs, & just do cards for each other. I guess it really is a Hallmark Holiday! lol :p

  • The other friends I don't expect anything from because it is nothing like that but my friend with benefits is the one that texted me and then put that video and caption om facebook. I don't know I am a very romantic person and I don't see why guys don't do nice things like send flowers or something even if you are not in a relationship.
