What would you call this and what am I missing??

SO I think we have a communication problem!! what would you call this and what to do about it..

1. Talking about going to visit soldiers in another state graduate.. 6 hours away..talking about he should go support his soldiers and then saying he doesn't want to go.. I offer my opinion...
I say you don't have to go to GA. he says " You don't know anything about being a NCO." That's a leader in the army.

2. talking about porn, " you don't know anything about testosterone and being a man" I say I have read lots of books on it, he says that doesn't matter your not a man.

3. we were arguing about what is considered appropriate when it comes to the opposite sex. I say well in the bible it says that looking at other women with lust is adultery so i guess we are both guilty of that.. He says " you cant preach the bible to me your not christian"

so i'm thinking what is the issue.. he is Christian, i am undecided about my religion, but anyway ... i must be doing something wrong in our communication. I know a lot about a lot of things thought, been in the army, ect.. what am i missing??

  • I'm not sure you're missing anything, really. His replies seem a little bit argumentative; like it wouldn't really matter what you said because it would be the wrong thing.

It does sound like a communication issue but maybe more along the lines of him not valuing your input.

  • His responses sound dismissive to me, almost disrespectful. I don't think it is so much a communication issue, as much as he doesn't seem to see you as an equal. It seems to me that he thinks your opinions have no merit.

  • I agree with the other ladies, it sounds like he doesn't really value your opinion, or you, for that matter.

  • I sounds like he is being disrespectful and if it was me I would be hurt by these comments. No one deserves to be spoken to in that manner ESPECIALLY on a regular basis. you need to think about how much this relationship is worth to you.

  • It sounds like the next word out of your mouth should be, "Goodbye." He's making it quite clear he thinks you'll never understand him, and he's ALSO making it clear he doesn't WANT you to. That's not a foundation for a good relationship.
