  • DO IT!!
ask around, get referrals, and make a consultation appointment. ask any/all questions of the surgeon concerning operation/product/safety/after-care/recovery/costs, etc. ask to see his/her work, too. before/after pics.
if you feel uncomfortable with the discussion, choose another.

  • Only reason why I would tell someone no is cause I heard you have to get them redone every ten years or so and then you get scar tissue. But that's only what I heard If I remember the source I got that from I'll come back and post. It might have been a tv show I saw.

  • Do your research. Don't just be sucked in by the 'good stuff'. Learn about the complications and corrections, the different ways the procedure can be done, learn everything you can before you make any consultations. That way, if you do decide to go forward you'll be better prepared to pick a surgeon.

I believe it's  http://www.implantinfo.com/ that has a list of questions you can print to take in to consultations with you. As well as lists of post-op supplies and suggestions. As well as a message board where you can ask questions.  A before/after searchable data base of photos and photos of complications.

http://www.justbreastimplants.com/ is also a really great resource.

  • The only first hand info I know on boob jobs is from a very close friend... she had it done and while it did look pretty good, she lost all nipple sensation and she said that was a bigger deal that she thought it would be...

  • Do you have enough money saved for your retirement, and for college for your child(ren)? If so, then do your research on the possible risks.

  • After seeing the HORRIBLE infection my cousin got after hers, I would NEVER do it. My cousin spent a week in the hospital hooked up to antibiotic IV's and then Benedryl because she was allergic to the only antibiotic that was getting rid of the infection. She had OPEN wounds on and around her breasts from the infection and was in extreme pain the entire time. She said if she had the CHOICE again, she would NOT do it. It is not worth the money.

  • I have implants and don't regret my decision. I am planning on getting them re-done because I want silicone instead of saline and it's been 10 years since I got them so it's time to get new implants put in anyway. Just find a reputable surgeon and talk to his other patients and read reviews about his work.

And I would look into the tear drop shapped implant instead of the round ones. The tear-drop shape looks very natural and it doesn't even look like you have implants.
