  • There is nothing you can give him as far as medication is concerned.

But as far as being congested you can take him in the bathroom with some hot water running to make it steamy in there and help him cough up some of that stuff. You can also let him sleep in the car seat or in a swing (if he will) sitting up slightly so that he has an easier time breathing at night. Or if he wont do that, take a pillow and put it under his crib mattress to raise the head of his bed up.

Other than that I can't think of much for you to do. Sorry!

  • If his nose is stuffy, the Little Noses saline drops and aspirator work wonders. They are totally natural and there is no medicine. It just really helps clear out the nasal passages so the baby can breathe better. If he starts running a temp or is not eating or the spitting up gets to be bad then call the doctor.

  • You may also want to consider allergies if his eyes are watering and he's sneezing. All 3 of my kids had this. If a doctor can diagnose him with seasonal allergies then an air purifier would help greatly. You will have to spend a bit to get a good one but it's worth it. If it's just a cold, then you can do a humidifier in his room, maybe the vicks things that plug into the wall, steam in the bathroom. The aspirators sometimes work well but sometimes they just make them more cranky. Its worth a try though. Oh and I agree with the first post, letting him sleep in a carseat or swing (where you are in the same room with him preferably) will help with the congestion.
