Returns

I filed with turbo tax february 6th and I should be getting my return sometimes this week or next,but what takes them so long to put it on a card? I need that money badly for gas in my car. I just started a new job and the commute is gonna cost. Does this mean they are still working on it? It said accepted so I'm confused on the hold up.

  • It means thefile was accepted. It still has to be processed at the other end.

  • I had heard that there were some glitches in the return system. I'm not sure if they've gotten those ironed out yet.

  • Did you check the IRS website? Does it give you the chance to take a look at where it is in the process? (I always have to pay so I have no idea :( )

  • The normal wait is 8-14 days, so you haven't even gotten there yet. There were some issues with early returns, but I think those have been resolved now. Google "IRS refund schedule" or put your information into the IRS's "Where's my Refund" site and you should get a date.

  • The normal wait back in paper days was 6-8 WEEKS quit whining and stop overpaying in advance!
