  • I was mature at a really young age due to how I was raised...long story. I was on my own at 18 and never took ANY help from anyone.
I guess it depends on how you describe mature.
not everyone gains maturity as they age. I know way too many people who fit this bill

  • Maturity comes from experience. Actually Learning From Experience and Applying it to your (their) lives .

  • There are some people that are wise beyond their years. There are others that wise is still trying to catch up with.

  • I think it can also be who you surround yourself with as well. I grew up with older siblings and my parents were of an older generation too. I always got from people that I acted a lot older than what my age was. So, I think it really depends on the individual person.

  • Older people tend to be more mature. But I have also known young people who were more mature. I think that as a rule, older = more mature. But there are exceptions to rules

  • usually, yes. alhough, i've known some very immature people with less get-along-in-their-hitch.
every now and then, a young (early20s is young to me) person will expound on some great maturity and surprise me. more often than not, there's still a twinge of immaturity in their ways/thinking.

  • Some of the most immature people I know are a whisper away from 40.

Age is not always indicative of wisdom and maturity or lack thereof. You can be young and mature. You can be old and juvenile.

Sometimes you can be a kid at heart with a wisdom beyond your years all at once. Those are the best kind of people.

  • Maturity comes with age and experience. As you get older you go thru things you might not have when you were younger. HOWEVER, you can be 19 and very mature or 24 and very mature. Just like you can be 38 or 42 and very selfish and immature. Age doesn't tell you much about a person except for how long they've been breathing on their own and that alone does not equal maturity.

  • I don't think it has as much to do with age as it does personality and life experiences. I have seen my 60 year old father carry on like a toddler.
