Are you ever a RAIN CLOUD, here on CM?

You know...the one who sees a question about something you have no interest in, or don't really care for, but you pop right up to rain on the spirit of the mom asking the question, with a negative answer like:

~ No! I don't care about about that!
~ I can't stand that movie/book/TV show/subject.
~ I don't know and I don't care!

I think most of us just skip the Q's we don't have an answer for or don't share the person's interest in; but sometimes (often among the first answers) there are the RAIN CLOUDS...just putting a damper on things.

In the Debate categories - yeah.
But in other areas, like moms looking for people with similar interests - not so good.

Have you noticed this? Has it ever been you?

I have noticed this. I would just skip the question personally. So I don't think I am ever a Rain Cloud.

a rain cloud??

i will answer a straight Yes or No when the question is simply 'Do you do this/that/like/hate whatever?'...i can't be responsible for how an OP takes a Yes or No. i don't worry about whether or not my response is glowing, but i don't purposefully piss them off, either.
if the OP only wants pats-on-the-back type answers, you aren't usually privy to that information until she divulges it later, in the thread.

No, I don't intentionally go around raining on anyone's day. I try to be a voice of positivity and encouragement here on the site, especially since many of the ladies here are women I have come to admire and respect greatly. CM is my "sanctuary," so to speak, where I come for my social interaction, and as the saying goes, you don't piss, where you eat/sleep, if you get what my comparison. I wouldn't intentionally taint my experience here, or anyone else's. Even if this is "just the Internet," I do actually CARE about the women here and my experience here, and I don't think the rules of common decency are somehow not applicable to online interactions just because we can't see the other person behind the computer screen.

No, I don't give answers like that. Why bother? I know I get irritated when I see a question filled with those type of answers, so I don't do it myself.

I will usually only answer something if it interests me or if it's something I feel like I can give advice on. i don't answer something to be mean. Or at least I don't think I try to be mean. Usually unless it's something that catches my eye I pretty much just pass over it.
