What are some good meals/plans for infants?

I would like more variation for my 7-month-old's meals. What do your kids like, or what ideas do you have?

  • My 9 month old HATED baby food! She went straight to mushy table foods, so I might not be the best one to advise lol.

We try to mix it up. If she has noodles for dinner one night I try to not give them to her for lunch/dinner the next day, or add a sauce to them. Have you thought about making your own baby food? Just take whatever the family is having, toss it in a blender and BAM instant variety to baby's diet!

  • I puree my own baby my daughter gets a lot of variety. Sweet potato, green beans, broccoli, eggplant, zucchini, squash, parsnips, apple, banana, pear, plum, nectarine, berries, cantelope, peach, avocado, etc. Then I mix different things together for each meal. Example: Avocado and Banana. Yogurt and Cereals are good too. Your baby might be ready to start eating some very soft finger foods. Try banana or avocado cut up into very small chunks (pea size) and see how he/she does. Also...Baby Mum Mums are a great finger food and they can start eating those as soon as they start solids. They melt in your baby's mouth so they don't present a choking hazard. Hope that helps.

  • We were introducing table foods, so they had some of what we had at each meal.
