2 Bumps

What would you have done in this situation?

Tonight I was at Ross, I was browsing the housewares near the changing rooms and bathrooms. A mom pushing a cart came up and her little girl had to use the bathroom, but her son around age 6, didn't want to go in the bathroom with them. She left him sitting in the cart, she told him to stay seated and walked off.
I watched him for a few seconds and started to walk off. I was listening though and heard him moving around, so I looked back at him and saw he was standing trying to shake the cart. I told him to sit back down and that what he was doing was dangerous. He sat, I walked back into my isle and I heard him doing it again, so I peaked around the corner again... he sat back down. This happened a few times and finally he just stayed sitting down and waited for his mom to come back out.
When she came out he told her that there was a "creepy lady" (me) that kept watching him and made him sit down. LMAO! I didn't see them again, I think they left right after.

I could have just walked away, but I was afraid he would get hurt as little kids are wont to do.

Would you have kept an eye on him, or walked away?

  • I probably would have done the same thing but with my luck the mom would have come out and punched me or something stupid.

  • I would have done the same thing too. It was in the best interest of the child. Not to mention that it may have been an eye opener for the mom who left herchild unattended. She will think twice, I hope about leaving him to be kidnapped. How easy would it have been... IF you had really been a 'creepy lady' with ill intentions instead of good ones. Nice job! I think you may have saved that child in more ways than one. Kuddos to you momma!

  • i would have just stood there. waited for the mom - then told the mom she needed to be more careful next time, he almost stood and fell. that he isnt mature enough to not stand in the cart. my six year old cannot fit in those seats anymore. so i would guess he was younger but idk...

  • I would have done the same thing. I think it's hilarious that every time he saw you he popped back down. You have the mom look!
