What is the longest you've ever waited in an airport?

I'm hoping my almost 6 hour wait this morning is my longest one.

  • About 24 hours
We were in college and booked a trip to cancun through a travel agent. They set up a charter for us and other college students to go down. Turns out the charter company was a fraud and never really existed. The travel agency had to find a new company for us.

But, the airport kept the bar open late for us, we played wheelchair races, and slept on the floor. If I had a family with me I would have been much more upset!

  • 6-8 hours. We finally thought we were going to leave and all got back to the holding area to find out MORE maintenance needed to be done. It was crazy, but we got to know the people on the flight. :-)

  • 10 hours in Nashville last April. We were stuck on the tarmac in Orlando for 1:15 min (during a severe thunderstorm) which made us 45 min late for our connecting in Nashville and we had to wait for 3 open seats so ended up on the 3rd flight out of there for Des Moines. This was the hardest trip for me b/c I can't eat when I fly I will be ill. I plan my flights just right so that I can land in my final destination and eat.

  • 8 hours in St. Louis. I missed my connecting flight and had to wait for the next one. If it had been Atlanta or even Memphis it wouldn't have been that bad, but I can't stand the St. Louis airport!!
