Hey --- I've got an idea....

Time & time again I've seen people make misinformed statements about others' beliefs. It's impossible to understand one another OR even have an intelligent debate w/o the correct information. So, I propose we educate ourselves about one another's beliefs.

I'll start. :-)

I've found that 2 of the best websites for gathering basic core information on virtually ALL religions & beliefs are: www.religioustolerance.org and www.beliefnet.com.

For anyone interested in learning more about Buddhism, www.buddhanet.net is an excellent resource.

Okay --- your turn. What website(s) would you recommend to someone seeking knowledge on your religion/belief system or on world religions in general?

  • witchvox.net is an excellent resource for learing about pagan religions. Not all of them (there are quite a few) but some of the more well known ones. My mind is drawing a blank on other ones. I think CoG.org might have some info too though I haven't been to their site in a long while.

  • Well, if ya wanna 'learn' about atheism, may I suggest you read 'Letter To A Christian Nation' by Sam Harris or 'God Is Not Great' by Christopher Hitchens. 'Letter...' is an awesome book that explains in nice, polite terms why we atheists are causing you Christians so much trouble in the country today and 'God...' is a not-so-polite book that explains why God isn't such a good guy. A word to the Muslims...he's not a fan of yours either so tread with care.

  • I don't look for information about christianity on the web because its kinda like watching TBN. Everyone has their own perspective about what God is saying and I would rather just hear it from him personally. I am very particular about what I read too. If I come across something interesting, I will post it.

  • For any one who truly want to know what us LDS believe I suggest go to LDS.org or Mormon.org. There are so many sites that have lies about our church the best thing to do is read things that are actually put out by our church- go to the source :)
