do you give your baby prunes?

My husband just ran to the store to get some groceries and he bought baby prunes just for the hell of it and I know moms give this when baby is constipated or whatever, but does anyone give it more often? Can I give her one or two baby spoonfulls a day or will she have an upset tummy or something? I love prunes so I was thinking a few spoonfulls a day or everyother day.Thankyou! Oh yeah-she is 7 months almost

  • Sure, you can give them to her any time. They won't hurt her... but they WILL cause a mess! LOL... So just be ready for it!

  • Yeah, prunes are great. I give them to my baby girl all the time. They are the most messy fruit though :). They dont stain though... weird.

  • I gave some prune juice (about 1-2oz daily) mixed with water for a couple months until she was regular again. Definitely helped with the constipation! I can't see the harm in giving them to your LO every once in a while :~)

  • I gave my DS pureed prunes every day because rice cereal made him constipated. There's no harm in giving prunes often, unless you see your LO gets diarrhea, then you should give less.
