  • Whether I like to or not, I know I feed both. I try to feed the good wolf as often as possible, but occasionally the evil one gets some scraps.

  • I learnt the consequences of feeding the bad wolf a long time ago.  I can't say I don't toss it a few scraps from time to time but for the most part, it is skin and bones.

  • My great grandmother told this story also but she had a caution at the end of hes that we mst be very careful that the evil wolf does not devour the good wolf.

  • Ooooooh that is GOOD!
I try to feed the good wolf because then I can sleep so much better and enjoy life and my family so much more. And I want to make them happy.

Being angry and jealous and envious and all those negative emotions will wear you down and make you sick.

  • I've always loved this. :)

I try to focus on the "good" wolf, on cultivating love and compassion and so forth, though even I fail and sometimes and get jealous and angry - I just try not to act on those when I feel them, I try to remind myself that I can only feel them if I focus on myself and not the larger picture, the other person's side of things. Not that I always succeed, lol, even I am prone to giving that "bad" wolf more than I should at times. But this saying is something I keep in mind, along with many other quotes and phrases and verses and so forth to try to stay on course, even if I have my moments just like the rest of us. I would never intentionally claim that I succeed at this anymore than anyone else does, or subtly/passively insinuate it - all I can claim is that it is a priority and focus in my life, something I do consciously strive towards, knowing that perfection is almost impossible, so not claiming it.

  • That is lovely.  I don't feel that there's a battle going on within myself, though.  Being human, I'm susceptible to a variety of emotions and reactions to different people and situations, but it doesn't take that much effort to treat others the way I want to be treated (in most situations) which equates to, I suppose, the first wolf.  The second "wolf" does appear on occasion, but happily, not all that often.

  • Love this! I think, as most people, I've fed both on different occasions. I do however, feed the good the majority of the time:)
