OK...WOW

And to think my Grandma bought into all this- hook, line and sinker... (edit- this was NOT a question from her wink mini)

Question:
"Recently, I prayed with you for pain in my knees--and, praise God, my knees were healed! However, I woke up the next day and the pain had returned. It's like the healing was nothing mroe than a wonderful dream. What happened to my healing? And how do I get it back?-RAZVAN"

Answer given:
" You don't believe that it's REAL and you say -you know-it's a wonderful dream but you don't recieve it. You've got to recieve it, stand on it, take it, and praise God for it- this is mine and he'll ask it back-I mean this may be satanic and the things come back on you, they come back and you need to rebuke it and command it to leave you permanently"

Ummm...ok then
Any ideas as to why the pain came back? Do you think he's right?

  • God is a healing God. God also made medical doctors and medication for problems that arise in out fragal bodies. Like a diabetic cant just not take there insilin or a high blood pressure patient there medicine. Thank God for doctors and medicine. I do beleive God can miraculously heal people and some people he doesnt, I am a christian i had a stroke at 25yrs old and had brain surgury ( and i thank God that dr's can do brain surgery no adays) i also have high cholestorol, high blood pressure and bipolar disorder. Its just my temporary body and my soul is completly healthy and i take all my medications

I think the pain came back because a problem still exists in the knees, not because God--if there is one--"took it back" the very next morning.

  • he's crazy! do i believe healing can occur? yes. do i think its a satanic issue, the recurring pain? no. lol. there could be any number of physical reasons for his pain.
but for his pain to come back, perhaps he needs to see a doctor, too.

  • I agree - the pain didn't come back because there wasn't enough faith or any of the other reasons listed in the original response. I am a Christian. I believe in prayer and healing. I also believe that God gifted some of us with the ability to be medical doctors and that the answer to some of our prayers is to put the right doctor in our lives when we need him.

The pain went away the first time? I have no idea. Perhaps your grandma had relaxed and some of the tension left the joint. Perhaps she was off it for a while and it helped ease the pain. Perhaps she was focused on something else. Who knows. It's back because it needs medical attention.

  • I would love to know if an independent study has ever been done to show if faith healing has any long-term effect over a placebo.

  • Idmrmom- it wasn't my Grandma who asked the question/had the pain...she just watched the 700 Club EVERY time it was on and would have completely ran with the idea that Satan was involved
