growing up, my mom's sister was the nastiest housekeeper. NASTEE! everything always had the greasy film on it, everywhere..never knew what her table or kitchen counters looked like without piles of dirty, used dishes/pot and pans/glasses..crap
when i was a little girl, my mom said once, while trying to get us/sisters to get busy with our chores, ''are you girls going to grow up and have a house like your Aunt Mae's?!!!!''..hell no.
then, as an adult, i had a bff who wasnt any better. her house was always a hotmess, and she always said mine was nice and 'open house-ready' because i didn't have any kids...well, she only had one, and no dh..just an endless string of no-good babydaddys coming and going, who obviously didn't care if the sheets were dirty, kwim?
anyhoo, that train left the station about 3yrs ago.

  • I don't know anyone with a messy house. If I see that there is a little mess, I still won't eat at their house. I am funny like that.

  • I don't but I did know of a woman at work who had 32 (no kidding) cats. Someone said they went over to her house and the smell was so bad they had to leave almost immediately. They ended up calling CPS because of her little girl

  • My house is well lived in, but not gross. My dishes are done, but my island seems to be a dumping ground for stuff that needs a home or the mail. Otherwise the rest is good. That being said, we had a friend who had bugs and she didn't understand why we didn't want to eat there or have my DD spend the night.

  • My house is cluttered, but not dirty. My mother's house on the other hand, is full of crap. It's not very clean either. And we are talking when she goes out of town (and I go over to water the plants, take in the mail) there are dishes in the sink, you can write in the dust and you can barely find a cleared spot on her dining room and kitchen tables.

I don't eat there. Thankfully, though sadly, she doesn't invite us to eat there. She did feed my 7 yr. old dinner last Sat. night and it just scared me.
