10% of 80 = 8, so 80+8 =88

It IS 80.

THink of is means 'equals' and 'of' means 'multiply'.
so think
88= 110% * n
then isolate the variable
88/110%=n
which is 80

n times 110% = 88
n times 1.1 = 88
n=88 divided by 1.1

n = 80

when you are given a % you need to find the integer that it becomes, so you divide by 100. So 80% is .8 ; 50% is .5; and In this case 110% is 1.1
